“Do you think I’m a joke!”

Jae stares at Lin.

“You can do all you want with me, but I won’t let you hurt my feelings.”

A tear falls.
Wipe away her tear.

The world became quiet.
Everything inside Jae went numb.

Lin turns away from her.

Jae watches her as she continues further and further away from her sight.

Tossing and turning in bed.
She gets up.
Threw her pillow across the room.

“Ugh!”

Her hair, a mess. Breathing out heavily.

“What’s her problem!
I did nothing but be nice to her.
How dare she treat me like that!
Her only friend.
Does she think she can just stop being my friend?”

Clenching her fists.
She hits her blanket over and over again.

Then stops.

Her heavy breathing.

Lifting her head, staring across her room.
Clenching her teeth.

“I won’t let her. I won’t let her stop me from being her friend.”

Breathe out through her nostrils.
She clenches her blanket.

Lin walks towards the school.
Other students walk past her, entering the school.

In a daze.

“Did I make the right choice?
Was I too harsh?
Should I apologize?”

Pouting.
Continue walking.

“Good morning, Lin.”

Lifting her head, she hears her voice.
With a quick motion, she turns around.

A few feet away, Jae stands in front of her.
Staring at each other.
Lin’s eyes soften.
Jae smirks at her.
Slowly making her way towards her.
Only a few inches away from her.

“There are only two options for you.”

Moves closer to her.

“One, apologize to me…”

Moves even closer.

“Or two…”

Jae moves close up to her ear and whispers to her.

“I make every single day of your life miserable.”
